This year, Tamayo celebrates Día de los Muertos through the lens of El Sol — the sun, the origin of corn, fire, color and time. In Mesoamerican tradition, marigolds are known as the flowers of the sun, creating golden paths that help guide returning souls home.
From October 6 through November 3, ancestral ingredients, golden-hour warmth and a glowing ofrenda will transform Tamayo into a place of remembrance and connection. Guests are invited to add the name of a loved one to the altar and join us in honoring the lives, stories and light that continue to guide us.
Created as a journey from dawn to dusk, the El Sol collection traces the path of the sun through a three-course menu and six signature drinks, including two zero-proof creations.
Begin with the saffron and marigold glow of Luz de Mar Tiradito, followed by the ember-charred warmth of Fuego del Sol Short Rib. The journey closes at dusk with Amanecer Pumpkin Brûlée, layered with piloncillo, salted caramel and pepita brittle.
Throughout the collection, marigold, maíz amarillo, Ataúlfo mango, piloncillo, saffron and achiote illuminate each plate and glass with golden color, ancestral flavor and stories of nourishment, memory and renewal.
